Brothers’ final round match-up with Cootamundra doesn’t have any significance to the Group Nine ladder but captain-coach Ben Black wants his young side to finish the season feeling like winners.
Regardless of the result, Brothers will finish ninth this season and Black is looking to elevate the club’s youth at Equex Centre on Sunday.
Sam Humphries and Nick Hay will both continue their initiation to the top grade while Callum Price will get his shot at halfback.
Black came off at half-time in the Brothers loss to Temora last Sunday to help give the youngsters their chance to shine and plans to do the same thing against a Cootamundra outfit coming off a narrow win over Southcity.
“It’s a difference sort of time and no one can really benefit anything out of it through the scoreboard but it’s a good thing to finish on a high,” Black said. “Obviously it’s been an up and down season and if we can finish with a good win at home hopefully we can remember that for the rest of the year.”
