NARRANDERA’s Cup meeting is set to go ahead on Saturday.
Southern District stewards inspected the Narrandera track on Thursday and have given the all clear to race on Saturday.
After overnight rain, stewards were pleasantly surprised by how the track had held up.
“The wettest part of the track (the final 150 metres) is probably a soft seven, where as the rest of the track would be a (good) four or a (soft) five,” chief steward John Davidson said.
“Unless we get a storm out of the blue, and there is no rain forecast, the meeting will go ahead as planned.”
The $10,000 Narrandera Cup (1400m) will see the likes of Devised and Grand Allowance resume.
