Batlow residents were surrounded by white when snow fell on the town on Wednesday.
While temperatures in the Riverina plummeted, just down the road there was snow blanketing parts of the south west slopes.
Residents of and visitors to Batlow took to social media to show off the white stuff – take a look through the gallery above.
The Bureau of Meteorolgy said the snowfall was the result of a vigorous cold front that crossed the state, with the cold and gusty change bringing snow to the ranges.
Despite the fresh temperatures on Wednesday, the weather should fine up over the coming days.
“A low pressure system has developed off the NSW south coast and will move steadily to the east today as a high over South Australia extends a ridge over western NSW,” the BoM advises.
“This high is expected to move across New South Wales during Friday and is forecast to remain the dominant feature in the region through the weekend, promoting fine weather in most areas.”
