
Wagga product Dylan Pietsch is continuing to rise through the junior rugby union ranks.
Pietsch has been selected in the Commonwealth Youth Games team to will compete in Samoa in September.
The Year 12 King’s student dreams of representing his country doing what he loves – playing rugby.
He sees his selection as the first step towards building a professional rugby career.
“I am really excited to have been named as part of Commonwealth Youth Games team,” Pietsch said.
“Training alongside my team mates, who come from 10 different schools across Australia, under Hugh Carpenter (Sevens Talent Development Coordinator) and Dale Robertson (Sevens Pathways Manager) is a development opportunity that, if I work hard, can help me realise my goal of national team selection.”
The Australian team will take on the likes of England, South Africa, Fiji and Samoa at the tournament.
His selection comes after being part of the NSW Schoolboys’ 2nds team, who won the Australian Schoolboy Championship.
