RAAF Base Wagga at Forest Hill will be closed for nine days from July 18 for a major upgrade of electricity infrastructure.
Senior Australian Defence Force officer at the base, Group Captain Ross Jones, said the decision to suspend operations at the base was made for the safety of base personnel and electrical contractors.
The work includes replacing some 5.5 kilometres of underground high-voltage cable, the main high-voltage intake switching station and 12 substation kiosks.
