BARELLAN players tested the patience of North Wagga players, playing an unapologetically rough game of Aussie Rules on Saturday at McPherson Oval.
The Saints seemed distracted in the first quarter, but switched on in the second, forging a significant lead and emerging victorious 20.11 (131) to 4.2 (26).
Acting coach Kirk Hamblin kicked the Saints into gear at quarter time.
“We’re not those blokes; we’re a disciplined, professional team,” he said.
Patience paid off in the final half, the Saints ignored bad behaviour from the opposition and were awarded multiple free kicks.
“We started off the first quarter a bit slow but I was really pleased with the team footy we played in the final three quarters,” Hamblin said.
