A WIDELY revered first grade soccer team may fall from glory as half of Wagga United’s players are either injured, suspended or unavailable for Sunday’s match against Tolland.
Wagga United coach Travis Weir fears the game will not end in his favour.
“I’m not optimistic about it,” he said.
Lincoln Weir, Blake Collins, Geordan Ellicott, Zeph Daniel, Eugine Rauber and Javier Atayde will all sit out of the clash against Tolland on Sunday.
United’s defence will be hard-pressed without Lincoln Weir who has not been selected following a head injury last week. The loss of Collins will also weaken United’s defence.
Wagga United’s Nathan Trinder will take on a leadership role in the back line, directing young fill-ins, and with the inability to capitalise being Tolland’s Achilles heel all season, Wagga United might be able to curb Tolland’s furor on Sunday.
