TWO of the region’s peak disability services have joined forces to increase the scope of services offered to their clients.
Community Access Support Service (CASS) became part of the not-for-profit service, Northcott, on July 1. CASS initiated the merge ahead of next year’s roll-out of the National Insurance Disability Scheme, which would threaten smaller organisations.
Northcott CEO Kerry Stubbs commended CASS for “thinking ahead and putting clients’ needs (first)”.
CASS service manager Jessica Mawson said the new relationship offered clients more opportunities under Northcott’s larger infrastructure, while Northcott regional manager Michael Merrylees maintained the goal of both organisations was to benefit locals with disabilities, their families and carers.
