FERAL goats that terrorized Griffith residents have returned less than a month after a herd was forced out by the council.
Tourists visiting Hermit’s Cave last Thursday were shocked to be greeted by the cloven-hoofed beasts.
The new herd is reported to be made up of six goats, including two kids. Up to 30 goats were spotted earlier in the year, devouring flowers and destroying gardens.
A lack of water was believed to be responsible for the goats venturing into suburbia.
Griffith City Council put out the call for someone to remove the horned creatures, and in mid-June musterers used horses and dogs and light vehicles to capture the goats.
They were then transported to an abattoir.
