GANMAIN-Grong Grong-Matong scored their first win in a month as they returned to form with a 49-point victory over Narrandera on Saturday.
James Lawton dominated with a best-on-ground six-goal performance to lead the Lions to victory, 15.11 (101) to 7.10 (52) at Ganmain Sportsground.
The Lions showed glimpses of returning to form in the loss to Collingullie-Glenfield Park and then completed the turnaround with an important win over Narrandera.
It puts GGGM just a game outside the top five.
GGGM coach Jayden Kotzur said the smiles were back on the faces of the playing group after the game.
“We’ve had a really good two weeks, there was good numbers at training over the bye but there probably was a bit of relief (after the game),” Kotzur said.
“The boys were stoked.
“Like everyone else, we’re keen to get wins on the board.”
Narrandera’s James Sullivan was yellow carded in the the third quarter as the Lions got right on top.
