STAND-IN Coolamon coach James McKenzie is desperate to ensure the Hoppers do not suffer a third straight defeat on Sunday.
McKenzie is set to take charge of Coolamon for the second week in Matt Hard’s absence as the Hoppers welcome the in-form Wagga Tigers to Kindra Park.
McKenzie was happy enough with the effort against Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes but wants the Hoppers to be better with ball in hand.
“I was really pleased with our effort and intensity, we just lacked that bit of polish,” McKenzie said.
He said it was time for the Hoppers to stand up.
“We’ve showed we’re thereabouts but when you don’t play well, you don’t win, and that’s where it’s at,” he said.
“This is massive for us now, we’ve happened to lose two in a row now and Tigers are going really well.”
Coolamon will welcome back Rory Litchfield from injury.
Connor Neyland, Daniel Johnson and Rick Pritchett will miss another week.
