The first two days of play at the MIA Open has thrown up a mixed bag at the Jack Shannon Tennis Centre in Griffith.
Men’s top seed Jake Okines only managed one win before he was knocked out of the tournament by Albury’s Mark Shanahan.
Shanahan will face third seed Edwyn Ramos in the semi-finals while Brandon Vescio will play the winner of Cameron Meagher and James O’Brien.
The women’s draw went more to script with all four top seeds making it to the semi-finals. No.1 seed Talulah Farrow edged out Angelina Graovac to progress to the final.
In the other semi, second seed Sheree Moore accounted for Wagga’s Charlotte Littlejohn making it a first versus second seed final.
Annaliese Quarisa and Tavis Bergamin were the best performing Griffith players, making it into the quarter-finals.
