RIVERINA Lions players are set to show their stripes on a representative level as four team members join the ranks of the ACT squad for the women’s AFL State of Origin competition.
Nicole Keir and Paige Mathewson played the first game earlier in the year, and Elisa Pevere and Bridget Beatson have been selected for the decider on Saturday.
ACT plays NSW in Blacktown on Saturday, with the winner taking the glory.
NSW won the first of the two-part series, and ACT will be hungry for a different result on the weekend.
“We’ll be trying to get revenge on them,” ACT assistant coach Julie McLean said.
Keir will play on the back line, Mathewson will play on the wing, Pevere will play upfront and Beatson will play in the centre.
