WAGGA MP Daryl Maguire has defended the Electrical Trades Union’s (ETU) allegations that more than 50 local jobs at the Transgrid depot are unprotected under plans to privatise the network.
Mr Maguire clarified the Australian Energy Regulator determined how many staff a depot received, not the government, and that the ETU made many misleading statements over the government’s intention to lease 49 per cent of the network.
