FORMER Griffith mayor Mike Neville has been suspended from duty with Corrective Services.
A Corrective Services NSW spokesperson said Mr Neville had been suspended from duty on April 1.
"He will remain suspended with pay while a formal investigation is conducted,” the spokesperson said.
“It is inappropriate to make further comment."
Mr Neville made national headlines in 2010 when he was charged with eight sex offences relating to his time as a probation and parole manager at Griffith.
He faced two trials over the charges and was acquitted on some counts and “no billed” by the DPP on others.
Mr Neville has always strenuously denied the claims and remains a councillor on Griffith City Council.
He declined to comment on the suspension when contacted by Fairfax.
