MTC president Scott Sanbrook lauded Town Plate day a success, saying the magnificent weather had encouraged punters to relax and enjoy the day.
“The crowd here has been as strong as any Town Plate day in recent times.
“I’m confident this is a forerunner to a highly successful Gold Cup day.”
Punter Steve Marshall was happy to enjoy a quite after noon in the sun.
“It’s a great day – the best day – of racing.”
