LEESON, Parkins and I had to report to Capt. Dignum at 8am this morning as he is the C.O. of the defence force. We had to work the helios as machine guns. The attack seemed very slow but it is not to be wondered at as Leeson and I flashed the helio on every section that started to advance. If they had been in reality guns there would not have been one man alive in the Batt. We all came back at 3pm and had dinner. There was also a Bde scheme on and the men on that did not return at all.
