Twin intuition could be a blessing for Kieran and Jake Eady as they take on the roles of school captains of Ladysmith Public School this year.
Their similarities do not end with sharing the same birthday.
They have the same ideas on how they want to lead their school and make a difference as captains.
Kieran and Jake have completed their schooling together at Ladysmith but ran the race for captain as individuals.
Artistic Jake and sporty Kieran believe they both offer something unique to the role of school captain.
“If there’s something we can get to, we would try and do it for our school,” Jake said.
“If we go to an event, like athletics or swimming, I want to encourage people to go in those events and just to have a go,” Kieran said.
Kieran and Jake often know what the other is thinking and believe that could work to their advantage when making decisions that affect the school.
Teacher/principal Helen Sturman taught the boys when they were in years three and four and described them as quiet and reserved but very helpful with others.
“They both like to take on new initiatives and they will learn so much about being leaders,” she said.
“It’s nice to be in a position they can both have a role but be individuals at the same time.”
