Figures for the start of the 2014/2015 financial year for Regional Express (Rex) indicate the airline has increased its profit despite decreased passenger revenue.
Profit before tax increased 10 per cent to $5.5 million on a turnover of $129.8 million.
Passenger revenue was flat but it afforded the airline lower operating costs due to the repeal of the carbon tax.
Rex has more than 50 aircraft that fly 1300 weekly flights to 52 destinations in the country.
