"It's ok. Made my own," he said to his more than 21,000 followers.
Member of The LEGO Movie sound team, and Wagga man, Damian Candusso was equally buoyant.
And he had every reason to be.
Despite the movie failing to impress Academy Award judges, the entirely Australian sound team picked up a top sound award last night.
"Our sound team picked up best sound for an animated feature film in the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSC) award," Mr Candusso said.
"The award was a Golden Reel - it is the top industry award.
"So it is bittersweet."
Mr Candusso was surprised that The LEGO Movie missed out.
"I thought it was a strong contender," Mr Candusso said.
"It made half a billion dollars."
The nominated films are Big Hero 6, The Boxtrolls, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Song of the Sea and The Tale of the Princess Kagua.
Mr Candusso pegged Big Hero 6 as the strongest contender from the line up.
"It was a good movie," he said, adding that the sound team from How to Train Your Dragon 2 had also done an impressive job.
Mr Candusso, who teaches at Charles Sturt University and is currently in the process of completing his PhD, said The LEGO Movie had been an incredibly creative film to work on.
"I used lapel mics because they were so small and put them inside real toys," Mr Candusso said.
"My son's toy truck was used for the sound of Wild Styles motorbike.
"The cogs of my son's broken toy truck were used for the sounds of Lord Business's legs."
The success of The LEGO Movie has prompted calls for sequels.
Mr Candusso said two are on the cards.
"The Australian dollar has dropped a bit so hopefully that means more movies will come to the Australian market."
Mr Candusso said the success of The LEGO Movie and the huge input of Australians proved modern technology meant anyone in the world could make a major contribution to a global film .
"(In the Reel awards) we up against top sound producers, so it's great," Mr Candusso said.
