ALTONA Green trainer Craig Davis has made a habit of claiming Wagga's feature races, with Blue Mayhem dominating her rivals to win the Leo Hartley Memorial Final (525m).
After litter mate White Spyro won the Wagga Cup final in June, Blue Mayhem gave her trainer a second Wagga feature win, in the easiest of fashions.
Pinging the lids, Blue Mayhem was able to cross the quality field to lead coming around the first corner then set up a race-winning winning advantage.
Leading by seven lengths down the back straight, she maintained her lead to coast to a 6½ length victory.
The Michael Clayton-trained Low Call finished second with Megan-lee Mason's Rick Fern a further 4½ lengths away in third.
The Victorian trainer has once again set his sights on a return to Wagga with both Blue Mayhem and White Spyro.
"I've got White Spyro with another trainer, but I would like to have both of them back up here for the Wagga Cup," Davis said.
"I used to train her (White Spyro) but there was an injury I couldn't find so I gave it to Michelle Mallia thinking she was going a bit sour, but it was an injury and she's now firing on all cylinders.
"Blue Mayhem, her litter sister, is just as good."
After winning her heat and drawing a wide barrier in the final, Davis was confident off coming away with the win as long as she kept her feet.
Only a light dog, weighing around 24 kilograms, Davis thought her only danger was being knocked around by a larger dog.
"I knew if she didn't get interfered with she'd be very hard to beat," Davis said.
"As soon as she jumped to the front I thought it was all over."
Clocking in at a fast 30.39 seconds, the same time as White Spyro went to win the cup, Davis was impressed with just how fast the little bitch run.
