Michael Stanton, 59, and now living at Lithgow, appeared in Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday after his arrest on Tuesday.
He is charged with eight counts of indecent assault on a male, and one count each of buggery, attempted buggery and common assault.
Police allege Stanton committed the offences against an 11-year-old boy in 1980.
Stanton did not enter pleas to the charges and they were adjourned to July 18 for a reply to the prosecution's brief of evidence.
Before Tuesday's arrest, Stanton was already facing 13 counts of indecent assault on a male, five counts of indecent act on a male and two counts of buggery.
Stanton has not yet entered pleas to those charges, which also stem back to the 1980s and will also be mentioned on July 18.
He is on bail and excused from attending court on the next occasion if legally represented.
None of the existing charges relate to Stanton's time in Wagga.
The charges follow an investigation by police officers from Strike Force Avia, which was established in October, 2011, to investigate alleged assaults on a number of children at a Catholic college at Blacktown and a Catholic primary school at Lalor Park in the 1980s.
Four men - two teachers and two former Brothers - have been arrested and charged by Strike Force Avia detectives.
Police said anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse, no matter how long ago it happened, was encouraged to make a report at their local police station.
