KILDARE Catholic College produced an overwhelming result in the Southern Inland Rugby Union high school tens tournament yesterday to celebrate victory in both divisions.
Stamping its place as the premier rugby union high school in the region, Kildare claimed a 26-12 victory over Griffith High School in the year 7-8 final before romping to a 28-7 win over Tumut High School in the year 9-10 competition.
A massive total of 24 teams converged on Conolly Rugby Complex yesterday for the annual high school competition which celebrated the highest numbers since its inception.
Beating out about 300 players for the honour, Kildare stars Jake Gaynor (year 7-8) and Hayden Ashcroft (year 9-10) were named player of the final in their respective divisions.
