Hoping to listen to the concerns of those who will be impacted by the plan, he will visit Finley, Coleambally, Griffith and Hillston to meet with various primary producers in the dairy, rice, horticultural and cotton industries.
Beginning Thursday he will meet with key people to discuss what support the region can be given by the church, which plans to respond to the draft plan.
Touching on the effects of the plan in a Christmas message, Dr Brown hopes the discussions will focus on assisting communities find new ways of being, the need for long-term certainty for those using water and the whole Australian community which will share the impact of the plan.
"Generosity of spirit would mean that the cost of reducing irrigation quotas from the Murray-Darling river system would be borne by the whole community instead of just the irrigators and the people of the towns, whose economies will suffer from reduced food production," Dr Brown said.
