The learner's band will cater for beginners on percussion, all styles of wind instrument including clarinet, saxophone, flute, trumpet, trombone and more.
Ms Johansen replaces Shane Gillard who guided the band to new levels of performance over the last 12 months. Mr Gillard and his family are moving to Melbourne where he will commence band officer training.

Ms Johansen joined the Army fifteen years ago whilst completing a Bachelor of Music Honours (Classical Performance) at Adelaide University and from there has continued to work on all areas of musicianship.
The Community Band have stated they are hoping to expand their ranks in future. The beginner and concert bands are open to all ages and skill levels, rehearsing each Thursday at South Wagga Public School Hall with the Beginner's Band starting at 5.30pm and the Concert Band at 6pm.
