Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at CSU's Graham Centre for Agricultural Innovation, Siong Tan, is one participant with grand plans to revolutionise the agricultural industry.

"I'm working on the preparation of high value canola meal, which is a very delicate process that will revolutionise the Australian Canola Industry," he said.

"It works as a replacement to fish meal in the agriculture industry where in comparison to expensive fish meal, our product has the same high protein content, a good amino acid profile and good protein digestibility, as well as most importantly being available at a lower price."

Dr Tan said the project was something he'd always been interested in, taking a few years to develop from conception to the point of pitching.

"I'm from a science background with a business-based family, so combining the two is something I've always wanted to do," he said.

"Now I am about to show you all what I can do."

Another participant with big ideas is Leanne Sanders, pitching a new type of technology.

"My idea is to build a technological platform to help Aboriginal youth access disability and mental health services," she said.

After working on the project for nearly two years, Miss Sanders said the idea came from her work in the health sector.

"When I was working in health and the NDIS got rolled out, families were calling me needing help because they knew I'd worked with disabilities in the past and they were having challenges accessing and understanding support services," she said.

"There are no Aboriginal disability providers in the Riverina, so I was getting pulled in a million different directions to help people and wanted to create something to give me more time and share my resources with others."

The pitch night will be held at CSU's Convention Centre from 6pm to 9pm tonight.

AgriTech Incubator project officer Siobhain Howard said for those who missed out on the program this year, applications are open for the fifth Ready to Launch program commencing on July 29.
