The NRL has confirmed when Wagga will host the Canberra Raiders rugby team in the 2019 NRL Telstra Premiership draw
The Canberra Raiders will play round Round 8 on May 4, with NRL kick-off at 3pm.
A curtain raiser will also be held on the day.
The Raiders’ opposing team has yet to be announced, but is expected to be revealed soon.
The scheduled fixtures follow the Murrumbidgee Turf Club annual two-day race meeting starting on May 2.
Raiders chief executive Don Furner said he was delighted with the placement of the game, which will create a ‘Festival of Sport’ in Wagga on the first weekend in May
Wagga mayor Greg Conkey OAM said the match would mark the start of partnership between Wagga City Council and the Raiders.
