Brand said he hasn’t played in Wagga for 10 years but is keen to return as part of his 20th anniversary tour.
“I wanted to go to heaps of spots I have been to before,” he said.
“Usually when you tour, you release your album and then you tour that album.
“This tour for the past year has been a showcase of 20 years of my life and the latest album came out just last month.”
Brand said he has lots to celebrate including writing, travelling, making friends and having connections with different areas.
“It’s all wrapped up in my songs,” he said.
“Country music people are so loyal, they stick with you even through the bad albums.
“They're so amazing.”
Brand said on social media he is always looking for ways to make people smile and inject some positivity and love into the day.
“People have given me so much by allowing me this career,” he said.
“My shows aren't serious, I am not sitting there and taking myself too seriously.
“I am a cheeky bugger and I love having a great time.”
Brand said the inspiration for his music comes from his stories and the people he’s met along the way.
“I wear my heart on my sleeve and life can be difficult, but sometimes it can be fantastic,” he said.
Brand said his highlights aren’t the major events, but the more subtle moments.
“Like when family comes to me and their five year old has drawn a picture of me with a microphone and a V8 ute,” he said.
“Those things are the ones that give you the constant energy, love and acceptance.”
Wagga can expect a laugh and a good time at the show, Brand said.
“It's a cheeky fun show,” he said.
“It's all about connecting and forgetting about your boss who gave you a hard time when you wanted to leave early.”
He’s coming back with all the fan-favourites including Dirt Track Cowboys, Grandpa’s Piano, Good Friends, The Anzac, New England Highway, Get Loud and Hell of a Ride.
His new song Milestones, tells the story of a young man who set off in search of his dreams. It reveals the journey that shaped a life and led him to still be standing in front of his fans after a career spanning two decades.
“I love what I do,” Brand said.
“I love being on stage and there's not a day that goes by that I don't pinch myself.
“Milestones starts with ‘still green 20-something’ and ends with still green 40-something’.”
