Students and staff dressed in the colours of the university, attending the second event for Wednesday’s birthday celebration at The Hub.
While CSU’s real birthday is on July 19, Wagga’s head of campus, Miriam Dayhew said in coordinating a day to suit all campuses; there needed to be some leeway in the date.
“It’s actually the day the CSU act was signed, it is our birthday and next year will be our 30th birthday; should be a big year,” she said.
Lunch was served at noon, with appearances from Red Frogs and an animal farm including rabbits, a kitten and an alpaca.
There was also a photo-booth and best dressed competition during the event, as well as three other events on during the day.
These included a mid-morning awards ceremony, followed by a networking event, and an evening party.
“This morning we had the university achievement awards for staff and we now have a ceremony called the ‘Red Awards’, which recognises excellence daily,” she said.
“On each of our campuses, there were ceremonies to recognise staff excellence for building a stronger university and participating in a better community.”
The Wagga campus also ran a campaign to award students who were living the values of CSU and they were nominated by their peers.
