Mach Charm lines up in the Boulevarde Motor Inn Pace (2165m) at Wagga.
No horse in the race has been placed in any of their last five starts so Kahlefeldt is expecting a much better performance from the mare.
“I think she is possibly our best chance as she can lead and hopefully win,” Kahlefeldt said.
“The 2100 is her distance and she is a tough little mare so it definitely a chance.”
Kahlefeldt believes races programmed to suit lesser performed horses is a good thing for the sport.
He said its give the opportunity for all to earn money.
“It is good that those sort of horses can get races like that,” he said. “A few horses are going to come out of it with form which will help them gain a start elsewhere.
“Her form herself isn’t great but she hasn’t had much luck.
“She will be thereabouts.”
Kahlefeldt will also take the reins on Badge Of Gameness and Hilly for father Paul.
Hilly has been placed in four of his last five starts and from barrier two Kahlefeldt is expecting another good run.
“He has pretty good form and the draw is going to play a decent part in this as there is some good horses off the back line,” he said.
“Hopefully we can settle in the lead or close enough to the speed as he has a nice little sprint on him.”
Kahlefeldt is hoping Badge Of Gameness can take advantage of his draw as well.
“He’s a big lump of a horse and if he happens to find the front he will be very hard to run down,” he said.
