The Kooringal High School student last year decided to ditch her long locks for the World’s Greatest Shave – a feat not every young teen would commit to.
Sharlette was determined to raise $10,000 for the charity, helping to find a cure for leukaemia and supporting those diagnosed.
Not only did she reach that goal, she managed to raise more than $14,000, through several events and activities including a movie premier, trivia night, cake stall, BBQ and the final fundraiser on Saturday.
“I’m really happy with myself and thankful to all the people that helped me,” Sharlette said.
“It’s such an amazing fundraiser that helps put smiles back on faces.”
Sharlette said she was proud to be rocking her new look and encouraged others to support the cause.
Her father, Ray Bourke, said he had been sceptical of the decision at first, but said he was incredibly proud of his daughter and her amazing effort.
