THE 2018 Header Drivers’ Convention was an unqualified success in more ways than one. In addition to drawing like-minded people together to “chew the fat”, it’s a fundraiser for good causes. On behalf of the generous bunch who participated, organiser Neil Seidel had the pleasure of donating a cheque for $18,235 to Can Assist. To their great credit, they bettered last year’s effort of $10,870.

THE Narrandera Basketball Association signed up 200 players for the 2018 junior autumn competition. Seems the sport is alive and well in this neck of the woods thanks to the dedication of players, coaches, parents and officials.

NARRANDERA Show appears to be a year by year proposition with some hardworking members of the Show Committee stepping down. As a consequence, the meeting of the Show Society on Tuesday, March 20 at 7.30pm in the Showground Hall has special significance for 2018 and the years beyond. All are invited to attend.

THE Lake Talbot pool complex upgrade, in line with the master plan adopted by Narrandera Shire Council in 2017, should provide a user friendly access ramp for those with disabilities during its winter construction period. A favourable outcome of its intended grant application would give the project a major boost in the right direction.
