The incident occurred around 9am near the corner of Blamey Street and Halloran Street in Turvey Park, just outside Turvey Park Public School.
Ambulance media reported the bus collided with the mobility scooter at a ‘low to moderate’ speed, resulting in multiple injuries to the male driver.
“The man received lacerations to his head and his hands on impact,” a spokesperson said.
“He was taken to Wagga Base Hospital at approximately 9.15am and is in a stable condition.”
The mobility scooter was written off and tow trucks have moved the wreckage.
Wagga police Chief Inspector Andrew Spliet confirmed there were no injuries to anyone traveling on the bus.
“Obviously the elderly driver was pretty shaken,” he said.
“Once again the traffic message is to be alert and be aware of your surroundings.”
Police were called to the scene about 8.45am.
“The matter is currently under investigation by our local traffic and highway patrol police,” Chief Inspector Spliet said.
“We’d be calling on members of the public or anyone who might’ve witnessed the incident to assist us with our inquiries.”
