But now Wagga residents are going to to have the chance to learn more about collecting the not-so-humble button.
Robyn Caddy, a past president of the Victorian Button Club will be speaking in Wagga on Friday.
Rhonda Walmsley, from the Wagga Antiques Society, said Ms Caddy would be talking about buttons from the domestic and decorative to vintage and military varieties.
“There are so many different styles of buttons, so they are popular with a lot of collectors,” Ms Walmsley said.
“Some of them are really beautiful.”
Ms Caddy will speak at the ARCC hall in Tarcutta Street from 8pm. More details are available from Ms Walmsley on 0429 125 752.
