Musicians poured out of every nook and cranny, attracting passers-by into butchers, cafes, lounges and even bike stores.
“There was a real buzz in the air,” cafe owner Tanya Hardwick observed.
So, why was this happening?
Fitz Live, that’s what was happening.
The inaugural event drew hundreds down to Fitzmaurice Street, traditionally the quieter end of the CBD, for a string of intimate musical performances.
Even more surprising was the talent – every single performer or musical from Wagga.
“It’s something we really wanted to push, having exclusively local talent,” event producer Tracie Miller said.
“We’ll be doing it all again May 5.”
