The Fisherama is an annual event held by South Wagga Apex Club for more than 20 years, which typically draws about 400 anglers to the Wollundry Lagoons’ banks.
Mathew Longmore, the organiser of the Fisherama, gave his top tips for what bait to use.
“Worms and corn are the two favourites,” he said.
“When you have your fishing rod in the water, have a float and have your fishing line a metre under the water to keep it away from where the ducks are.”
Ideal conditions is anything but rain, and the luck seems to be on the angler’s side with a forecast for highs of 34 degrees. The lagoon also provides plenty of shade.
If you’re keen to show off your fishing prowess, or for a bit of family fun, the registration and weighing station will be on the corner of The Esplanade and Best Street from 6am.
