It comes after Health Minister Greg Hunt this year approved an average 3.95 per cent hike in premiums.
While it is the lowest rise in private health insurance since 2001, the Labor government contested it was still “business as usual”.
With only 85 cents of every dollar paying for healthcare, The Daily Advertiser wants to know how the city is feeling about their private health cover.
According to an Essential opinion poll, the majority of Australian residents surveyed said "health insurance (was not) worth the money you (paid) for it", and 83 per cent wanted "the government (to) do more to keep private health insurance affordable".
Consumer group, Choice also found 70 per cent of surveyed Australians, who had made the decision to not have private health insurance, did so because it was too expensive.
