The Carrathool Cup is an iconic event in the region and The Area News’ Anthony Stipo was there to captured the sights and atmosphere of the day – on and off the track – including the Jackaroo and Jillaroo dashes.
The big horse race was won by Tumut trainer Kerry Weir, with jockey Jason Baldock steering the $3 favourite Cod Rock to victory in the $14,500 feature.
There were six races on the card with six different trainers winning the events. Wagga’s Trevor Sutherland, who famously trained the card last year, teamed up with jockey Megan Taylor for the day but the pair finished with three second placings and three third placings.
