It comes after Amart Furniture reaffirmed a mid-march opening date for their newly refurbished 4,000-square-metre premises at 32-40 Edward Street.

Marnie Jarick of Baylis Street homeware store Billy Tea Furniture believes it’s a smart move to open during the public holidays but isn’t concerned about losing out on market share.
“It’ll be interesting to see how they go but we’re not too fussed,” she said.
“We’re a different kind of store and the products we supply attract a different buyer.”
