This year’s feature will be known as the Bendigo Bank Business Banking Wagga Gold Cup after it was the last to be drawn from the barrel at the 100 Club Sponsorship Dinner and Draw on Saturday night.
Moane Fitzgerald Constructions finished second.
It was Bendigo Bank Business Banking’s fourth year in the 100 Club and Anthony McGettigan was shocked by the win.
About 310 people attended the night of nights and Murrumbidgee Turf Club chief executive Scott Sanbrook labelled the event one of the best on record.
“It was one of our best gala nights ever,” Sanbrook said.
“In it’s 23rd year, it’s proving to be an evergreen event and it again proved way it is such a big part of the Wagga community.”
This year, 14 new businesses came on board the 100 Club.
The MTC mounting yard was transformed for the occasion and the function was held under a marquee.
World renowned speed painter Brad Blaze wowed the crowd with paintings of Winx, Bart Cummings and Marilyn Monroe. The Winx painting sold for more than $4000 on the night.
The Robbie Williams Experience was also part of the night’s entertainment.
This year’s Wagga Gold Cup will be held on Friday, May 4.
