In a brand new partnership between two much-loved Wagga icons, Gumi successfully went gourmet for 2018 with a little help from the team at Cork and Fork.
Cork & Fork’s founder, Tim McMullen of Borambola Wines, said the collaboration was all about giving competitors and spectators a chance to stick around and enjoy the atmosphere after the races.
“For me, it’s all about making it work for the city – we’ll team up with anybody that we can create a bigger and better event with to benefit the town,” Mr McMullen said.
“In past years, people have left the area, but if we can keep people here and enjoying the food and the music and having a drink in a nice, safe environment, then why not?”
While the final races finished up around 1:30, the addition of Cork & Fork meant the river bank was alive and buzzing right up until 7pm.
