With the nine-week-old in the crowd for the first time, the Dubbo trainer tasted early success in the Ladbrokes Appreciation Maiden (320m).
Guitar Girl had only been placed once in her five starts, but good manners saw her claim the maiden success
She started quickly from box eight to sit just off the pace set by Aqua Dream ($5.30) but powered to finish whereas Tia Robertson’s wobbled off the track to finish third.
Guitar Girl ($10.10) finished ahead of Sock’s Desire ($1.60 fav) who closed late for make it two seconds from as many starts.
Meredith was pleased with her efforts.
“She did everything right and that is the main thing,” Meredith said.
The win also made the trip back to Dubbo all the better.
