Schuhada Paiboonbudsrakam (also known as Preem and Proy) was called to the stand in the Wagga Supreme Court trial against Bryce Cliff on Friday, who is alleged to have murdered the 16-year-old teenager on June 7, 2016.
Cliff, of Wollongong, has pleaded not guilty to murder. The 30-year-old has pleaded guilty to manslaughter, which was not accepted by the prosecution.
Ms Paiboonbudsrakam told the court she had met Cliff while the family was living in Port Macquarie.
The pair dated for more than six years before the relationship ended in 2013 and despite creating a new profile, Cliff had continued to send her Facebook messages.
Detective Senior Constable Scott McPharland told the court Cliff was captured on CCTV making his way from Wollongong to Wagga on the day of the alleged murder.
The court heard Cliff took a train from Moss Vale and arrived in Wagga about 2pm that day.
CCTV captured Cliff wandering around Kooringal Mall and the Marketplace, before he was picked up by a taxi.
While the taxi was booked to deliver Cliff at Acacia Street, he was dropped off around the corner at White Avenue about 5.30pm.
Senior Constable McPharland outlined a page in Cliff’s journal that had references to Woolongong and Moss Vale as well as the opening hours of the Cleghorn’s Thai restaurant.
