Wagga Wagga Medical Centre is pleased to welcome Doctor Amir Mohtashami and Doctor Mariam Mahmood to the practice joining Professor Lexin Wang and Doctor Seema Siddiqui.
“Our practice is fully accredited with AGPAL and is a registered GP training facility, and we strive to deliver exceptional health care in a caring and friendly manner,” practice manager Jan Campbell said.
“With our two new doctors early this month, we now have the ability to welcome new patients.”
Dr Amir Mohtashami
Dr Amir Mohtashami started at the practice early this month and he holds a special interest in chronic health issues.
He says that the friendly and supportive staff have helped him settle into his new role quickly – and he finds helping people is extremely rewarding.
When he’s not hard at work looking after his patients Dr Mohtashami keeps himself busy at the gym, doing crossfit, playing guitar and traveling.
Dr Mariam Mahmood
“Although I have been at Wagga Wagga Medical Centre for a short time I am really enjoying my work in Wagga and am planning to stay here for a long time,” Dr Mahmood said.
“Since my very first day I have been made to feel very welcome.”
Dr Mahmood’s special interests are in women’s health and skin disease and she speaks several languages including Urdo, Hindi, Dari and Pashto.
When she’s not at work Dr Mahmood loves to go shopping and spend time with her family.

Professor Lexin Wang
Professor Wang has lived in Wagga for 20 years working as a doctor and an academic at the University.
Professor Wang is highly qualified and experienced and holds special interests in chronic disease prevention and management, skin cancer treatment, and last year accepted the role of Medical Director at the medical centre.
“The best part of working at this practice is being able to provide excellent care to our patients with the assistance of a fantastic group of staff and colleagues,” he said.
Dr Seema Siddiqui
Dr Siddiqui has been with the practice since 2015 and has worked as a general practitioner for 13 years.
She holds special interests in women’s health, mental health and healthcare for the elderly.
Additional studies in skin conditions, dermatological, child health and mental health means she is also highly skilled in these areas.
Dr Siddiqui is currently working towards her Fellowship in general practice.
