Regional mayors will discuss ways to combat domestic violence when they meet in Sydney next month.

Wagga Mayor Greg Conkey wants to raise the issue – and share a video produced by Wagga City Council – when he and the leaders of Albury, Dubbo, Bathurst, Armidale, Tamworth and Orange councils meet.

Cr Conkey has previously taken the issue of domestic violence to this group, and now wants to share the video, which features Wagga men taking a stand on the issue.

“Some of the other councils have been doing work on domestic violence, so I’m keen to see what else is being done,” he said.

Cr Conkey is also looking to widen the reach of the video, which is currently on Wagga City Council’s Facebook page, with options such as having it shown at the Forum 6 cinema considered.
