The Department of Primary Industries are hosting a forum in Wagga to help inform the draft Australian Welfare Standards and Guidelines for Poultry.
Former NSW Chief Veterinary Officer Ian Roth will host the session.
The draft standard covers welfare issues including nutrition, housing, animal husbandry, biosecurity and on-farm management.
“I encourage anyone with a view on poultry welfare to attend the meeting and be part of a productive discussion,” Dr Roth said.
Feedback can also be provided online via the NSW DPI’s website for those that can’t attend.
The meeting will be held next week at the Mantra Pavilion from 12-2pm on Tuesday, February 20.
