For Thomas Bros Wagga Wagga Takes 2 competitor Danny Crouch, who is raising money for Country Hope, nothing is more worthy of community support than children and families struggling with cancer.
“You don’t have to go far these days to know someone who has cancer, we can’t even fathom what a family would go through,” he said.
“People don’t realise how good they’ve got it.”
Mr Crouch said watching a child with a serious illness puts things into perspective.
“You think you’re having a bad day but you’re not,” he said.
“It’s bad enough for an adult but when it’s a kid, it’s just tragic.”
Mr Crouch is warming his vocal cords and working on his moves during rehearsals with stage partner Mel Donges, preparing to wow the crowd.
“It’s way out of my comfort zone but it’s just three minutes of your life, it’s nothing compared to what those kids would go through,” he said.
Mr Crouch will host a Legends of AFL charity night to fundraise for the event on March 14 at the Rules Club.
The night of entertainment, with special guests Kevin Sheedy and James Hird, will kick off at 7pm.
Tickets are $90 and can be purchased from Thomas Bros Toyota, Country Hope or eventbrite.com.
