Resuming at 2-42 needing 135 for victory the Bulldogs got off to a horror start losing 3-4.
However they were able to recover courtesy of some strong performances.
Josh Staines (30) led the way but he when departed the Bulldogs still needed 24 for victory.
With no more available batsmen available, Tim Cameron (30) and Nick Grant (10 not out) stood up and sustained plenty of pressure to secure the two-wicket win.
Captain James Richards was pleased to get away with the win.
“We definitely make it hard for ourselves,” Richards said.
“I said the first hour was going to be key and we lost three of nothing basically and were batting one short even though we got them eight down.
“That was our last wicket as Trevor Cook wasn’t there.”
