The decision was made on Sunday night to officially pull out of the competition citing a lack of player numbers.
It comes after a dramatic two-week period for the Greens.
At first Tumbarumba were looking to join the Murray Cup competition on the border, but were then forced to reconsider their options including opening discussions about linking with Tumut.
A portability clearance option with the Blues has been introduced for senior players, but the clubs are not amalgamating.

In a statement the Greens said re-entry into the Group Nine competition in 2019 remains a possibility.
A new draw for the season will be released to the remaining 10 clubs.
It will still have 18 rounds but now there will be no bye each week with only the general bye for the June long weekend.
