After toying with the idea of racing at the Supersport 300 World Championship, Demmery will instead combine with a yet-to-be-revealed Asian team at the ARRC.
Demmery, who is completing his rehabilitation from a fractured pelvis, tibia, fibia and femur, said he was excited to compete against an extremely high level of competition.
“Some of the front-runners in Asia would win at the world champs in Europe, so in terms of development I think it’s the best place to be,” he said.
Demmery said in commiting to the Asian Championships, he was entering an unknown world.
“We don't really know where we stand, we’re going into it blind,” he said.
“But I’ve been faster than some of the previous front-runners, so hopefully I can't be towards the front of the field.”
He will land in Thailand on February 26 for a two-day test, with the Asian championships beginning in early March.
Demmery had initially planned to compete solely in the inaugural Australian-based round of the Asian series in April, before soon committing to entire event. He will also compete at the Australian Championship events which don’t clash with Asia.
